[de]Am gestrigen Abend war es so weit. Ich konnte meine Eintrittskarte in über 2 Stunden gute Musik tauschen. Amüsant fand ich, dass ich den Altersdurchschnitt zu senken schien, die Stimmung allerdings nicht minder gut machte. Zunächst Stellte Tina Helgi Jonsson vor, als isländischen Künstler, den sie sehr und sich selbst glücklich schätzt, ihn als Bestandteil ihrer Tourcrew zu haben.

Sowohl Tina, mit bürgerlichem Namen Dickow, als auch Helgi hatten guten Kontakt zum Publikum und warfen immer wieder kleine Geschichten oder kurze Erklärungen zu Songs ein.

Ganz besonders habe ich mich über folgende Songs gefreut:

[en]Yesterday evening the time had come to trade my ticket for over 2 hours of great music. It was a little amusing, that I obviously decreased the average age, but the mood of the audience wasn’t worse because of that. First Tina introduced Helgi Jonsson, an icelandic artist who she likes to perform with a lot.

Tina, by last name actually Dickow and Helgi were in good touch with the audience, throwing in small anecdotes and introductions in between the songs.

Especially I enjoyed the following songs, which are among my favourite:

[da]I går var tiden så kommet. Jeg kunne bytte mit billet til over to timers spændende musik. Det var lidt sjov at jeg tydligvist var en af de yngste på stedet, som ikke gjorde nogen forskel på stemningen. Først forestillede Tina Helgi Jonsson, en islandsk kunstner som varmede op for hende og som hun er meget glad for.

Tina, som foran international publikum kalder sig Dico og Helgi havde en meget god tråd til publikummet og kastede små historier ind her og der, for at introducere sange.

[de]Grooveshark ist der klangvolle Name einer Webapplikation, die sowohl durch Vielfalt der Inhalte, als auch Benutzerfreundlichkeit überzeugt. Es ist Internetradio, Jukebox und Musiksuchmaschine in einem. Auf den Bildschirmen von ein paar Leuten aus meinem Semester habe ich es zum ersten Mal gesehen und benutze es seitdem um auch fern von meiner geliebten Musiksammlung einfach mal ein paar Lieblingslieder zu hören.

[en]Grooveshark is the name of a web application, that both has a lot of content and a high degree of user friendlyness. It is internet radio, jukebox and music search engine at once. I saw it on some colleagues screens and it makes it possible that I can listen to my favourite tracks far away from my collection.

Furthermore it has nice features:

• connection last.fm (premium accounts only)
• playlists
• virtual radio stations split into genres
• Grooveshark charts

Grooveshark er navnet på en brugervenlig web applikation med rigtig meget inhold på. Det er internet radio, jukebox og musiksøgemaskine på en gang. Jeg så det ved nogle af mine medstuderende og det gør det muligt for mig at lytte til yndlingssangene selv hvis jeg ikke er hjemme.

Flere funktioner er:

Welcome Back Colour is a huge compilation of new and previously released songs. Again life and love dominate the lyrics and blend in a colourful to melancholic grey mix of songs for this 2 disc album. Incredibly sensual and powerful new songs have joined Tina Dico’s wonderful discography. She describes the album as a collection in theme and music, which is divided in Welcome UP (CD1) including most successful songs and 3 new radio tracks, which also includes Welcome Back Colour and Welcome DOWN (CD2) with more or less known, exclusively acustical songs and three new ones.

The Song Welcome Back Colour is like the spearhead of the album, in a little apocalyptic setting, but with an option to enjoy. A shining rainbow in a burned down world.

While we’re waiting for the world to stop spinning

The olden days are black and white on my tv
And nowadays the future looks the same to me

Even more energetic Paper Thin pulls the listeners out in the world with stunning metaphors about sacrifice, a risky journey and not standing still.

Even what you hold dear of who you are inside
Could be too much dead weight for this ride around the world
If you spread your wings out wide and thin
Just pray they’ll hold you up till your home again

The following songs have all be released before and I like that so much from Count To Ten was included, even if it was the last album. They do a great deal to put a positive mood on this part of the album. The last track on CD1 is Instead. A sweet love song that reduces and focusses on a simple situation and plain honesty.

With Copenhagen Tina Dico declares her love to Denmarks capital city, also referring to her international success. As mentioned before, you can’t even think about believing or not, you just want to see, want to be in that city (by the way, I really can recommend it!).

You were right here

A Room With A View is the first song I’ve heard of her and I still like the memories I have about it and I really want to thank that wonderful girl that showed me her music. The melancholy of paralysation and being stuck as a observer and not a part of this life is over the setting of this song for me:

with many different girls, I’d been told
But what’s a man without a past
We love him for his lies
and then we try to break him down to make it last

The split of the songs in these two CDs makes sense. The first being a little faster, having more focus on music and rhythm and with the second listening to this awesome singer and songwriter relying more on her voice. Tina Dico manages to maintain the natural sound of her music and delivers this collection of believable and deep lyrics (many of these once again, which does not decrease their quality). If you buy the songs through iTunes or otherwise digitally the website (international tinadico.com under redesign right now, danish tinadickow.dk up and running) gives you an opportunity to have a closer look at the lyrics, which is quite awesome and not very wide spread among musicians.

Lady Gaga has, with Telephone, in my honest opinion, released her best video so far. The length of 9 minutes and 31 seconds leaves space for silent intros and stylized conversations between Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. The director, Jonas Åkerlund, has used many elements from famous Tarantino Movies like Kill Bill and Natural Born Killers. As always it is extraordinary, but this time, we have the pleasure of seeing the Lady without many objects or glasses, only with a lot of make-up

Why doesn’t she just turn off her phone?

The lyrics are not outstanding, but it has some truth in it. Take girls as long as they are free, they’ll not be waiting.
